News: Lambda Marine receives order from UAE oil company for Vesper Marine VAB-1252 Virtual AIS Beacon Create AtoNs… at the push of a button! Lambda Marine receives order from UAE oil company for Vesper Marine VAB-1252 Virtual AIS BeaconLambda Marine, a maritime ICT system integrator based in the UAE, recently received an order from a UAE oil company to supply and install a Vesper Marine VAB-1252 Virtual AIS Beacon. The VAB-1252 remotely transmits multiple Aids to Navigation (AtoN) allowing Virtual AtoN Markers to be placed in locations where it is impossible to install physical markers. It offers a fast & cost effective way to place numerous AtoNs, is easy to install, easy to operate, easy to maintain and robust & reliable. Electronic virtual markers are recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as a Virtual Aid to Navigation (VAtoN). When a Virtual AIS Beacon electronically marks hazards they become visible on ECDIS, Chart Plotters and other AIS systems and can be used to prevent collisions and other marine accidents. Port Authorities, companies and organizations with Offshore Oil & Gas operations, Marina operators etc. can enhance safety and marine communications in a fast, efficient and cost-effective way. Typical VAB-1252 applications include marking of both visible and invisible navigational hazards, including platforms, subsea pipelines, bridges, piers, reefs, buoys, towed sonar arrays etc., marking of shipping channels and anchorage areas, marking moving hazards such as sand bars and creating temporary cordons around hazardous spills, wrecks, marine protected areas etc. The VAB-1252 standard comes with 5 virtual and/or synthetic AtoN markers, expandable up to 65, is a type 3 AtoN with operating modes A, B or C and is waterproof IPx7 with ethernet connectivity. |
